FAQ

WHY SHOULD I TAKE SWIM LESSONS YEAR-ROUND?

The benefits of cardiovascular activity and aerobic exercise are immense. According to the American Heart Association, physical activity will improve your overall quality of life. This notion is shared among most health institutions. Although learning how to swim is considered as a safety precaution for preventing a series of accidents when in or around water, swimming has been scientifically tested to improve one’s well-being because it is part of a complete exercise regimen.

We believe that participating in swim lessons should be a year-round physical activity because it helps our students maintain and improve their swimming skills, keeping them physically active while increasing their awareness of water safety. Due to our progressive skill curriculum, every student is trained and taught with our goal of motivation to stay healthy and increase interest in joining a competitive swim team!

WHEN CAN I SIGN UP FOR LESSONS?

Anytime!

A $35.00, annual, non-refundable registration fee is due at sign-up. This fee will cover all administrative changes needed to maintain a family’s account for 12 months. All new students receive a swim cap prior to their first class. If you enter the program in November or December, your registration fee will roll over for the following calendar year.

Monthly Registration

Tuition is billed monthly and is based on the calendar month. The prices are adjusted to reflect how many lessons your student receives when there are extra weeks or holidays in the month, as shown below.

Tuition per lesson

Monthly: $48 – 30 min class
Monthly: $68 – 60 min class | Only available in INT, ADV, & Adult Levels
Private: $95 – 30 min class

Please note: Tuition is adjusted and pre-paid on a monthly basis. Payments will be withdrawn from your autopay account on the 1st of every month.

Understanding Price Adjustments

Example: Milbank Location

Price of lesson x # of scheduled lessons in the month = monthly cost

Students enrolled in our program attend the same class and day every week. Based on this calendar example, students enrolled in:

  • Monday classes will pay a tuition of $192.00 for 4 classes
  • Wednesday classes will pay a tuition of $240.00 for 5 classes
  • Saturday classes will pay a tuition of $144.00 for 3 classes due to a holiday closure from the 24th to the 27th

All enrollments receive 1 makeup token a month after an absence request is submitted through the App or Member Portal. Medical certificates are required if the time condition cannot be met, and makeup lessons must be used within each calendar year. Makeup tokens are neither refundable nor transferable, a make-up lesson can only be booked once. A missed make-up lesson is forfeited.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR LESSONS?

Contact us if you’re unsure of what level to choose for yourself/or child. A coach will connect with you within 2-3 days to discuss and confirm availability based on the student’s needs and experience.

Once registered, create an account in our Login/Class Portal where credit/debit card information is required to allow access to request enrollment. You’ll have access to attendance records, skill evaluations, class transfer requests, makeup tokens and upcoming class schedules for the next semester.

HOW DO I PAY FOR LESSONS?

Once an account is created in our portal, a card must be saved to our autopay system. First month and classes remaining in the calendar month are due up front for the enrollment. Monthly enrollment tuition will be withdrawn on the 1st of every month after the initial enrollment payment. Tuition for lessons is charged by monthly automatic payments. Holidays and pool closures are credited to accounts accordingly.

Members can cancel their classes at any time as long as they submit a drop request by contacting our team prior to the last day of the month. There are no refunds for classes still remaining during an active month. Makeup tokens can be issued for medical reasons as long as a Doctor’s note is provided.

We have a no-refund policy but allow students and families to receive credits on their accounts. A student or family can cancel their classes at any point in time and will be credited for the remaining lessons they will not be attending. All credits placed on family accounts must be used within a year of the issued date and can be passed on to other students.

There will be a $30 fee charged for declined credit cards.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE IN ADVANCE?

Your payment reserves your enrollment with Splash Fit Swim Club and ensures that the student has a spot in their class.

Due to high demand and an extensive waiting list, payments must be submitted prior to start date in order to lock in the student’s spot.

HOW CAN I CANCEL MY CLASSES?

Members are able to cancel their classes at any time as long as they submit a drop request by contacting our team prior to the last day of the previous month.

We have a no-refund policy but allow students and families to receive credits on their accounts. A student or family can cancel their classes at any point in time and will be credited for the remaining lessons they will not be attending. All credits placed on family accounts must be used within a year of the issued date and can be passed on to other students.

DO YOU OFFER A TRAIL CLASS?

Yes! If you decide to continue with classes, the trail class is billed as the first initial class. Otherwise, you aren’t obligated to continue classes or make any payments.

WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS TO MISS A CLASS?

Although the student’s spot is reserved, requesting a future absence is required in order to receive a makeup class. This allows us to plan accordingly and offer drop-in or makeup classes to other students.

Please note that all students, including privates, are only eligible for group make-ups.

DO YOU OFFER MAKE-UPS FOR MISSED SWIM LESSONS?

All enrollments include 1 makeup lesson per month. Makeup tokens are only issued when an absence request is submitted at least 24 hours prior to the missed class on the Splash Fit App or Customer Portal.

Because of our strict student to teacher ratio, missed classes will not result in additional make-up classes, prorated tuition or refunds. There are no refunds for classes missed.

You are paying tuition for your child’s spot in their weekly class. Please reserve these instances for true emergencies. Please honor the spirit of this privilege and use it only for serious illness or conflicts.  We do not provide make-ups for missed make up lessons.

You are responsible for payment for your student’s classes whether or not your student attends class until the time you notify Splash Fit Swim Club by either dropping your enrollments through the portal or submitting a cancellation request. Please do not rely on your student to verbally let us know that he/she will no longer be attending classes. If a student stops coming to class without notification then that student’s account will be charged for the additional 30 days.

Our team philosophy is that our students should attend every class or practice. Although this may not be realistic with children, it is the best practice to reach the best learning experience.

Please note that all students, including privates, are only eligible for group make-ups.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO SWIM CLASS?

Splash Fit Swim Club will provide learning equipment necessary for class such as kick boards, pull buoys, noodles, and fins. Please bring a swimsuit, goggles, towel, sandals or foot wear that has not been worn outside of our facilites for yourself or child, and a lock to store your belongings in a locker.

All swimmers may wear tucked in rash guards and swim shorts with a cotton netting underneath but may not wear underwear (boxers or briefs) under their swimwear. Goggles are required for students ages 4 and over. All children under 3 years of age or children who are not fully potty-trained must wear a disposable swim diaper underneath their swim suit. All swimmers must be wearing a swimsuit in order to enter the water. NO chewing gum or dangling jewelry. Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that it stays in their swim cap for the entire class or practice session. Bows or other large hair ornaments that may cause discomfort during class or practice should not be worn.

Splash Fit Swim Club will not be responsible for ANY items that may be lost or stolen. Be sure your student’s personal items are marked with their name and secured in either a locker or with a caregiver at all times.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A STUDENT IS LESS OR MORE ADVANCED THAN THE OTHER STUDENTS IN HIS OR HER CLASS?

Our coaches notice skill differences quickly during class/practice and are aware of the abilities that the swimmer needs to either remain in the initial class/practice or be placed at another level.

DO I NEED TO CHANGE CLASSES WHEN MY CHILD CHANGES LEVELS?

Yes! If the availability allows, class options at the initial class time may be available. If not, we’ll work with you to find a new day and time that fits your schedule.

WHAT IF MY CHILD’S GROUP CLASS ONLY HAS ONE OR TWO STUDENTS?

While this is not common, absences from other students can result to lower class ratios and possibly even a 1 on 1 experience.

CAN I REQUEST MY CHILD’S LESSONS TO BE TAUGHT BY HIS OR HER FAVORITE TEACHER?

Although specific coaches are not guaranteed, we certainly take your requests into account and can attempt to accommodate your preferences to the best of our abilities. We understand that different students respond to different coaching styles and we’ll make sure your child has the opportunity to receive the full learning experience.
