Our Coaches

MIGUEL ESCALANTE

 

Our dedicated leader, Miguel has many years of experience working with our swimmers, coaching many from brand new beginners to Junior Olympic qualifiers. He currently works primarily with our Senior A group team. When not working with the Stingrays, Miguel is the Aquatics Director at BronxWorks Community Center AND manages Splashfit Swimming, a learn-to-swim program also based at the Milbank Center in Harlem.

BRIAN KOH

 

We are thrilled to have Brian returning for his second year as a Stingrays coach! He works with both A and B groups, and has extensive personal swimming experience at both the Club and College Level, . He qualified for the Junior National Champiionships as an age-group swimmer and had multiple top-ten all time school records while swimming in College. When he is not with the Stingrays, Brian can be found teaching 5th grade math, studying for his grad school classes and surfing in the Rockaways.

DEXTER TUCKER

 

Dexter has many years of experience coaching swimmers of all levels, ranging from learn-to-swim to our senior group. He is currently the Aquatics Director at the Dunlevy-Milbank Center and has been involved with the swim program for over 20 years! He currently works primarily with our development and B group swimmers

TAWANDA PATTERSON

 

Tawanda is the Stingrays Meet/Deck coach and is responsible for coaching at our swim meets. She has extensive experience with our team, having been both a volunteer and Deck Coach for many years.

REINA LAVEZZARI

 

The Stingrays are excited to welcome back Coach Reina!! She has long-standing experience in swimming instruction and coaching, ranging from brand new beginner to high level competitive swimming. She currently works primarily with our development program.
