Developing swimmers, strengthening communities!

The Stingrays Swim Team is a competitive age-group swim team based at the Children’s Aid Dunlevy Milbank Center in Harlem. We have a strong record for turning children who have never been in a pool into confident swimmers. Available to kids of all swimming levels (ages 6-18), instruction ranges from beginner to the highest level of competitive swimming. The Stingrays are a recognized USA Swimming team and compete in the NY-NJ Metro Swim League as well as Metropolitan Swimming.

Swimming combines heart-healthy aerobic exercise with full-body training. Supported by the American Heart Association, it enhances overall well-being and quality of life.
Training progresses from foundational instruction to elite competition, with athletes regularly competing in local championships, Junior Olympics, and Eastern Zone meets. The Stingrays compete in the NY–NJ Metro Swim League and Metropolitan Swimming, providing a structured pathway from first swim to high-level competition.
Swimming isn’t just about safety—it’s one of the best forms of exercise. The American Heart Association notes that regular physical activity boosts overall health and quality of life. Year-round swim lessons keep students active, build confidence, and strengthen water-safety skills. With our progressive curriculum, each swimmer is motivated to stay healthy and inspired to join a competitive team.

Students enrolled in our program attend the same class and day every week. Based on this calendar example, students enrolled in:
All enrollments receive 1 makeup token a month after an absence request is submitted through the App or Member Portal. Medical certificates are required if the time condition cannot be met, and makeup lessons must be used within each calendar year. Makeup tokens are neither refundable nor transferable, a make-up lesson can only be booked once. A missed make-up lesson is forfeited.
Contact us if you’re unsure of what level to choose for yourself/or child. A coach will connect with you within 1-2 days to discuss and confirm availability based on the student’s needs and experience.
Once registered, create an account in our Login/Class Portal where credit/debit card information is required to allow access to request enrollment. You’ll have access to attendance records, skill evaluations, class transfer requests, makeup tokens and upcoming class schedules for the next semester.
After creating an account, a card must be saved for autopay. The first two months and any remaining classes in that month are due at enrollment. Monthly tuition is automatically charged on the 1st of each month. Credits are issued for holidays or pool closures.
Classes can be canceled anytime with a drop request submitted before the last day of the month. No refunds are given for remaining classes, but makeup tokens may be issued with a doctor’s note.
We offer credits (not refunds) for unused lessons; credits expire one year from issue and can be shared within the family. A $30 fee applies to declined cards.
Your payment reserves your enrollment with Splash Fit Swim Club and ensures that the student has a spot in their class. Learning to swim takes time because it is so unnatural for humans, before cancelling your classes, we recommend you or your child take a minimum of 12 lessons to see true progress!
Due to high demand and an extensive waiting list, payments must be submitted prior to start date in order to lock in the student’s spot.
Members may cancel anytime by submitting a drop request before the last day of the previous month. We do not offer refunds, but credits for unused lessons are valid for one year and can be shared within the family.
Yes! If you decide to continue with classes, the trail class is billed as the first initial class. Otherwise, you aren’t obligated to continue classes or make any payments.
Although the student’s spot is reserved, requesting a future absence is required in order to receive a makeup class. This allows us to plan accordingly and offer drop-in or makeup classes to other students.
Please note that all students, including privates, are only eligible for group make-ups.
Splash Fit provides all learning equipment (kickboards, fins, noodles, etc.). Please bring a swimsuit, goggles, towel, clean sandals, and a lock for your belongings.
Swimmers must wear proper swim attire—no underwear under suits. Goggles are required for ages 4+. Children under 3 or not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper. No gum, jewelry, or loose hair; hair should be secured in a swim cap.
Splash Fit is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Label belongings and keep them secured at all times.
Our coaches notice skill differences quickly during class/practice and are aware of the abilities that the swimmer needs to either remain in the initial class/practice or be placed at another level.
Evaluations and skill assessments are held every 5 weeks.
Yes! If the availability allows, class options at the initial class time may be available. If not, we’ll work with you to find a new day and time that fits your schedule.
While this is not common, absences from other students can result to lower class ratios and possibly even a 1 on 1 experience.
While specific coaches aren’t guaranteed, we do our best to honor requests and match your child with their preferred instructor. Feel free to speak with a coach for more details.
