Parent & Child Aquatics

PCA I & II

Ages 18M-4Y

As an introduction to the aquatic environment, being comfortable at a young age is the stepping-stone for your child to gain the maximum knowledge from what the water has to offer as they grow. In our Baby & Me (Parent Child Aquatics) class, becoming comfortable in and around water isn’t our only focus, but familiarizing children with swimming readiness skills. They’ll be introduced to learning appropriate body positioning on both front and back while building skills such as a consistent kick, reach and pull, and proper face submersion where songs and games aren’t always the focus. Parents will learn the best positions to hold their child while keeping them comfortable as they learn. Although rubber duckies may be considered as toys, you’d be surprised what your child can learn from them, all while in the comfort of your own arms!

PCA I

BEGINNER BABY

Both the parent and child participate in the class together. The instructor directs the parents on how to safely hold the child in the water to get him or her adjusted to the aquatic environment.

Prerequisites: No skills are needed to enroll into this class.

Objectives
Mouth Submersion
Face Submersion
Assisted Front Kicks
Assisted Back Float

Ratio: 6 to 1

PCA II

ADVANCED BABY

24-48M

Preschool Aquatics

PSA I, II, & III

Ages 3-5

In our Preschool Aquatics class there is much more learning and a lot less playing. As children build comfortability they become ready to take on the next challenges of swimming short distances on their front and back all while recognizing the importance of safety. They are introduced early to front crawl and back crawl techniques to raise stroke awareness as they continue to explore their body movements in propelling themselves forward. Deep-water exploration is important so that they can better understand that it’s never about sinking to the bottom, but remaining at the surface. We believe that practice and repetition is key in building strong skills, not just blowing bubbles or singing songs.

PSA I

LEVEL I

Comfort Stage

Ensuring your child is comfortable before moving on to the next level is important, this is our aquatic exploration level. All objectives are practiced in short lengths of 3-5 Yards and shallow water.

Prerequisites: No skills are needed to enroll into this class.

Objectives
Face Submersion
Assisted Front Kicks
Assisted Back Float
Sitting Entry

PSA II

LEVEL II

Intro Stroke Skills

Our next level in Preschool Aquatics is designed to develop children’s proficiency in improving skills already obtained. This is accomplished by reinforcing those skills and being able to demonstrate them consistently.

PSA III

LEVEL III

Basic Stroke Skills

Our last level in Preschool Aquatics is designed to increase children’s proficiency in performing skills already obtained. This is accomplished by providing additional guided practice and an increase in distance and water depth.

Prerequisites: Your child should be proficient in ALL objectives from Level II and be prepared to complete these objectives in longer distances of 5-8 Yards and a deeper depth.

Whats Next?

After completing the PSA III stage your child becomes eligible for Team Prep LTSIII. Although we have age standards for all levels, progression is extremely important in the development of all of our swimmers and exceptions do arise for those who show the improvement along with a high level of commitment!

Learn to Swim

LTS I, II, & III

Ages 5+

Our Learn to Swim program is built and designed with one goal in mind, teaching you how to swim! It’s important that each and every participant learns at their pace but with specific goals set, they can reach their greatest potential. Our skill level ladder is the best way to determine if the participant needs more practice or if they’re ready for the next challenge of skill sets, showing progress every step of the way. We take a much more serious approach towards safety and learning skill objectives with our straight to the point classes of drill sets and repetition.

Our Team Prep program is designed for the intermediate to advanced trained swimmer who would like to further their skills to a competitive level or for the athlete who already competes for a swim team. Through repetition and timed drill sets the swimmer gains a better understanding of how to propel themselves forward using arms, core, and legs to improve their stroke hydrodynamics. Turns, dives and underwater work are also improved to assure the swimmer is balanced in each stroke.
